The Showrunner Podcast Positioning Course
Create a podcast that stands out, gets heard, and builds a real connection with your ideal audience.
The Showrunner Podcast Positioning Course delivers a 3-step process, detailed worksheets, and expert support to help you turn what makes your show different into what makes it better.
With so many options …
Why would anyone choose to listen to your podcast?
And why would they come back and listen again … and again?
There are more than 550,000 podcasts and more than 18 million podcast episodes available right now. That is a lot of listening options that are just a click of a button away.
So how do you position your podcast so it gets heard?
Simple:
By understanding what makes your show different, and using it to create immediate attraction and a long-lasting connection with the audience you want to serve.
Understanding how to get your podcast heard by your ideal audience isn’t rocket science or voodoo. It doesn’t require artistic talent or even much imagination. And it’s based on concrete principles, not fluff.
All you need are your enthusiasm and the ability to follow a proven three-step process.
Can you do that?
Then this course is for you.
“Detailed and practical how-to information from two guys with an impressive podcasting pedigree.”
~ Ben Ramsden
Arriving at a smart positioning strategy for your podcast is not hard.
While it does require some work and some research, the path is quite clear:
Pretty simple, right?
It is. But what isn’t always clear is how to approach this in a systematic way.
- What questions should you ask yourself? And in what order?
- What research do you need to do?
- What elements do you need to consider?
- And what’s the big idea that can serve as your guiding light throughout the entire process?
We designed this course to make the execution of this process nearly as simple as the explanation.
As long as you have the enthusiasm to jump in with two feet, and the commitment to put in the work and thought necessary, you will be able to carve out a unique space for your show.
And then it won’t be a question of if you’ll attract attention from the right people.
It will be a question of when … and how much.
This course delivers the training, worksheets, live advice, and ongoing support that you need to create your unique snowflake in the blizzard of podcasts.
The content of the training is exactly what I need, and the community alone would be worth the full price of the course.”
~ Geoff Reese
Here’s what we need from you — because it’s the only way for us to know if you are a good fit for this course.
Can you provide affirmative answers to these three simple questions?
- Do you have a genuine desire to connect with an audience about a topic that is important to you?
- Are you coachable?
- Are you willing to dare to be different?
If you answered yes to all three, then you’re ready to dive in and start working on your podcast’s positioning.
The end result will be a podcast that can’t get lost in the shuffle … because it is unlike anything else that is out there, and that right people know it.
Let’s go …
Who are we?
Jerod Morris
Jerod Morris is a co-founder of The Showrunner and a 10-year veteran of the podcasting industry.
His day job is podcasting, as he currently hosts The Showrunner, as well as Site Success in his role as StudioPress Ambassador for Rainmaker Digital. He has previously hosted The Digital Entrepreneur and The Lede, which was Copyblogger’s flagship podcast about content marketing, one of the top business podcasts in the world.
And he podcasts for fun as well — though even his “fun” podcasts have grown into serious revenue-producing entities. The Assembly Call went from a simple audio podcast into a weekly live video show that is also broadcast on terrestrial radio. His other show, Podcast on the Brink, is the most popular Indiana basketball podcast in the world.
Jonny Nastor
Jonny Nastor is a co-founder of The Showrunner and a 5-year veteran of the podcasting and software development industries.
He co-hosts The Showrunner and is the renowned host of Hack the Entrepreneur — a show that is best described as being like a podcasting sports car, because it went from zero-to-crazy audience numbers faster than Jonny ever imagined. Launched in late 2014, Hack the Entrepreneur quickly carved out a spot on the first page of iTunes’ business podcast listings, and the momentum hasn’t stopped.
The thrice-weekly HTE has attracted attention from numerous sponsors, and it led to Jonny receiving a special invite into the initial launch of Rainmaker.FM. The show has featured guests such as Seth Godin, Pat Flynn, Guy Kawasaki, and Brian Clark.
And here is how The Showrunner Podcast Positioning Course will draw on our experience to help you create your remarkable show:
- Module 1: The Basics. You will learn what positioning is and why it matters. We also introduce The Big Idea that serves as the throughline for each of the Step lessons to follow.
- Module 2: The 3-Step Process. You will learn, in detail, and with supporting worksheets, the process for creating a show that is perfectly positioned and prepared to attract (and retain) an audience.
- Module 3: Bonus Materials. In addition to a bonus lesson on how to name your podcast, you will have access to three live Q&As with both Jerod and Jonny where we will answer your questions about how to position your show and how to get your podcast heard.
-
- Ongoing Support. Every lesson has a space for questions and discussion, and it is monitored by us. If you want to solicit feedback on the ideas you’re developing for your own show, this will be a great place to do it.
- Downloads. Every lesson is delivered via a video with slides and narration. The audio and slides can be downloaded individually. Each lesson is accompanied by a worksheet to guide you in applying the concepts to your own show.
- Money-Back Guarantee. You have 30 days of access to every lesson in the course. If in that time you decide you want a refund, just email us and we’ll process it.
